We must create art.

I'm wildly inspired by a few things from today. Also purple flowers in my garden.

Today, I come back to share more of my weird and wild thoughts. I have been inspired in two specific places that encouraged me to continue to express my “art” or more appropriately, myself.

The first is the well known author Glennon Doyle. Who wrote famously, and my personal favorite, Untamed. So Wild inspiration makes sense when I think of her. But it’s her podcast, We can do hard things, with her wife Abby and her sister Amanda that I talk about today. Specifically this introduction to the podcast in a recent episode where she tells us that every morning she is writing again AND sharing it to her email subscribers. This just validated me in being here more often.

Later on I speak of how this podcast helped me through some difficult times when I returned home to the US to help with my ailing father who sadly has passed.

There was one specific episode that opened my eyes to what was the start of this new era we are in with the U.S. government. What they talked about made me pause because again it’s about how we are in community with one another, or how we are not. Here is that episode.

I also speak of this Reel I saw on Instagram where this woman is literally calling us to create! It took me a minute to find but here it is:

And while I don’t see myself exactly as an artist, I do see myself as creative. I love the expressive arts like comedy, drawing, writing and podcasting.

This is what brought me here today again. I’ve been in a burnout again. And that is how Write me Weird started. Not a place to sell but to express and figure things out. For myself. And maybe for you too.

In a very synchronistic way, another thing came back into my life just a few days ago and that is the Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron. When I first began her book, it was when I moved to the Netherlands. This practice has helped me through many life changes. Now I was invited to do the 12 weeks with a friend who gifted it to me. I’m happy to say that journey starts today. I’m excited to see where creating takes me.

What are you creating?
